Children

& Young People's

Counselling

2.png

A child's developmental years are

often the most challenging.

Their minds evolve rapidly, which can be a difficult time . As they face social pressures and being form their own ideas, they may experience internal conflicts, resulting in challenging behaviours.

I have provided one to one counselling for children and young people for 12 years.

Over the course of my career, I have worked for two amazing charities whose focus is on the well-being of Children and Young people on the county.

I can help support children and young people aged 10+

As a qualified Counsellor for Children and Young People I can help to support those who have experienced:

Family breakdowns

Trauma

Anxiety

Difficulties with forming relationships

Behavioural challenges

Sexuality conflicts

Self-harm

I truly believe each individual has choice about if counselling is the right thing for them including feeling comfortable with who they work with.

I ensure each individual is provided with information about alternative support aswell as crisis 24hr support details.

For each referral,  I provide a free 30 minute initial assessment which can take place online or in school.

This provides them the opportunity to meet with me and to gain insight into what counselling is as well as how I work.

There is no obligation to have to commit to sessions after the Initial assessment has taken place.

A 50 minute counselling session starts from

£50.00 per session.

"Jo worked with my year 5 class after a sudden death of a student.

We were all really struggling to come to terms with what had happened.  Jo was amazing, the children loved her.  Her knowledge and expertise allowed these children to deal with their grief and process it in their own way with her support. Not only for the children but Jo was on hand to support me also.  I can’t thank Jo enough for her work she did, these children are now ready to move on to secondary school with the tools in their toolkit to help them through life.

I would recommend Jo always for any  school setting where the children or adults needed support. "
