Restorative

Supervision

for care professionals

I pride myself on building trusting relationships and all conversations are held in confidence.

Restorative supervision can help to:

Reduce work related stress

Reduce staff sick days

Encourage healthier ways of communicating

Promote autonomy and confidence

Improve individual well-being

Improve relationships

Enhance both professional and personal development

We all aim to find the right work/life balance, however isn’t work part of life and life part of work?

As much as we might aim to separate the two it is often they cross over and not always in a way that compliment each other. With life pressures to earn money, maintain focus, support families and to keep going on a never ending treadmill as we aspire to achieve in all areas of our life, work can take a knock as we try to juggle all expectations.

Finding yourself under pressure at work or within your personal life can cause problems. These problems can include, stress and ill health, feelings of not coping or doing enough to succeed, things can build up before you even realise what is happening.

Stress in which ever way it is experienced will have a detrimental impact on your well-being.  Being able to have a safe, professional confidential space to discuss and work though any concerns will help to support both your professional and personal development and wellbeing.

Restorative supervision is a type of supervision that aims to support and challenge the individual when coping with difficult and stressful situations.

I encourage focus on the professionals own capacity to think and make decisions. It can help each staff member to reflect on their own contribution to the situations they face and aid clarity of thought.

Restorative supervision is a more formal way of delivering support to enable the development of relationships benefitting their working professional relationships. The basis of restorative supervision is to support staff to build trusting professional relationships without fear of judgments.

Restorative supervision supports those who are experiencing life difficulties that could be impacting their working role.

Restorative Supervision is aimed for professional individuals who work within any supporting role.

These include:

Teachers

Support workers

Housing teams

Nurses

Police

Firefighters

Social workers

(However supervision support can benefit anyone who works within a supportive, caring role.)

"Jo worked with me to devise a six month pilot scheme for colleagues who were customer facing and experiencing some challenging cases/situations. These sessions have been invaluable and have helped and supported colleagues with having a safe space and time to process the sensitive and often distressing cases.

These sessions have supported colleagues with their mental health and enabled them to stay in work. It allows them the time and space to reflect on what they have experienced, and Jo guides them through what they have witnessed any lessons learnt and whether they need any further support.

The feedback we have received from colleagues has been so positive about the reflective supervision sessions.  Colleagues are extremely grateful that we as an organisation offer this

opportunity if colleagues need it.

I would not hesitate in recommending Jo and the benefit of reflective supervision."
